Vehicle Types
The inland Mulligan Highway is sealed all
the way to Cooktown, and the
Peninsula
Development Road is now sealed to Laura
so both these routes are suitable for all
vehicle types.
Caravans
can travel easily on the
sealed inland routes to both Cooktown and
Laura.
Camper trailers are ideal for the road
conditions
of Cape York but check with the
roadhouses for latest road condition updates
before onward travel.
4WD Routes
Cape York is renowned for its challenging and
scenic 4WD Routes which are
closed in the
wet season.
The following routes are suitable
for 4WD vehicles only.
