Finch Bay & Cherry
Tree Bay
These lovely bays are fringed with two of
Cooktown’s most beautiful beaches. Although
you can drive to Finch Bay, just 1km past the
Botanic Gardens
entrance and car park,
there is a delightful short
bush walk
through
the Gardens.
The secluded
Cherry Tree Bay
, fringed
by rainforest and large rock formations,
is accessible via walking tracks through the
Botanic Gardens or from the
Grassy Hill Road
.
Walker Bay
Walker Bay is a popular local beach near
the
Golf Course
, only accessible by 4WD.
The beach is located at the mouth of the
Annan River, and is favoured by anglers who
fish the sand bars
at the mouth of the River.
It is also a renowned favourite amongst
kite surfers
