Finch Bay is a spectacular beach, surrounded by mountains and only a 5 minute drive or half hour walk from the centre of town.
Finch Bay is a spectacular beach, surrounded by mountains. On the left side of the beach there are dozens of massive rocks sitting at the end of the mountain as well as one boulder that rests on its side in the beach. On the right side of the beach, the mouth of a small river, which is said to have crocs in it, separates the beach from the mountains. Heading away from the foreshore, along Walker St., you will pass the botanic gardens and it is only a further kilometre to the beach along a dirt road or you can follow the walking trail through the gardens to the beach.
